Josh Marsfelder, like me, was inspired by Phil Sandifer's TARDIS Eruditorum to do something vaguely similar with a show he loved. He started about six months after me and has been doing something much more Eruditorum-esque with Star Trek. I'm actually only on early season 2 of TOS, his third month of blogging, but I can already tell he's way better at this than I am.
Anyway, if you like Star Trek and read this blog, you are virtually certain to get a lot out of Vaka Rangi. Go read!
I'm considering doing something along these lines for LoZ: Majora's Mask, though obviously it would be a bit shorter.
ReplyDeleteGo for it! I'd be very interested to see how this approach works out for games.
DeleteHey, many thanks for the plug. I really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteTOS Season 2 seems so, so very long ago...Vaka Rangi has been transformed and reborn so many times since then it no longer even feels like the same kind of thing to me. I'm sure as someone who runs a blog project of similar scope you can relate to some extent.
Oh, and if you're a fan of Revolutionary Girl Utena and Sailor Moon Crystal, I'll be interested to hear your reaction upon reaching the Dirty Pair section ;-)
No problem!
DeleteAnd yes, I know what you mean. Even just preparing the books, I look back at what I did for Season 2 and it's... weird.
I'm definitely interested in reaching that section, because here is my entire knowledge of Dirty Pair: I thought there was a trailer for it on the old Slayers Next VHS tapes I used to own, but after about 20 minutes of hunting on YouTube eventually found the trailer I was thinking of and it's not even for Dirty Pair, it's for something called Knights of Ramune. So I'm fascinated by the question of what it has to do with Star Trek.
