I am so, so sorry. (No I'm not.)

    1. On Doctor Who, when the main character, The Doctor, would die, he instead transforms into another actor that shares his memories but has a subtly different personality. This is called "regeneration." Frequently, the Doctor is referred to by which regeneration he is, e.g. First Doctor, Fourth Doctor, Eleventh Doctor. This, too, is frequently shortened down to just a number, e.g. One, Four, Eleven. So if you change the actor's name to their respective regeneration (Tom Baker was the Sixth; Sylvester McCoy was the Seventh; Paul McGann was the Eighth; Christopher Eccleston was the Ninth), you get the classic joke, "Why was Six afraid of Seven? Because Seven Eight (ate) Nine."
