[14:00] <Sylocat> Ah yes... when we last left off, FUCK YEAH SATSUKI[14:00] <Sylocat> I mean, it's still way too early for that attack to work (unless Nui is the final boss after all, which I doubt), but still... You go girl!
[14:00] <Sylocat> Ooh, truncated opening?
[14:00] <FoME> And a reversal of her opening Orwellianism.
[14:00] <FoME> Ad.
03[14:01] * ChanServ sets mode: +o Sylocat
[14:02] <FoME> Almost done... :(
[14:02] <FoME> Ready.
[14:03] <@Sylocat> Ooh, that acupuncture technique works
[14:03] <@Sylocat> Huh... I was expecting Mataro to have to save everyone
[14:03] <@Sylocat> Wait, do they already know that being impaled won't stop Ragyo? Now that's genre savvy
[14:04] <@Sylocat> Well, HE'S genre blind, anyway
[14:04] <FoME> Naturally.
[14:04] <FoME> Worst. Covert communications. Ever.
[14:05] <@Sylocat> Wait, where did those screens come from?
[14:05] <Arrlaari> Science!
[14:05] <FoME> I think they're part of the stadium design.
[14:05] <@Sylocat> Gee, I wonder why Satsuki wouldn't have qualms about stabbing you in the back, Ragyo...
01[14:05] <Froborr> Think I'm a little too far ahead.
[14:05] <@Sylocat> Dang, Satsuki was prepared
[14:06] <@Sylocat> (nah, I just took too long to type that)
[14:06] <@Sylocat> Huh?
[14:06] <@Sylocat> WHOA! Even he took her by surprise!
[14:07] <@Sylocat> Of course, Collar McDatapants has to spoil the poetic dialogue
[14:07] <Arrlaari> "Um, Actually"
[14:07] <@Sylocat> Eeyup
[14:07] <FoME> I thought the same thing.
[14:07] <@Sylocat> GO NONON
01[14:07] <Froborr> Yeah, Nonon!
[14:07] <@Sylocat> They almost had her on the ropes for a bit
[14:08] <FoME> Ad.
[14:08] <@Sylocat> Just to clarify, where is everyone? I'm paused at 6:19
[14:08] <FoME> Done.
[14:08] <@Sylocat> Aww, he really cares about Mako
01[14:08] <Froborr> Just behind that by a couple seconds.
[14:09] <FoME> Right about there.
[14:09] <@Sylocat> Of course, THAT works
[14:09] <@Sylocat> "When did you turn against me?" Gee, I wonder when
[14:11] <FoME> Ragyo Kiryuin: Also a mad scientist.
[14:11] <@Sylocat> For a moment, I almost thought Ragyo cared about her newborn kid
[14:11] <@Sylocat> "Monologuing," she calls it
[14:12] <Arrlaari> Backstory doesn't tell itself, director
[14:12] <@Sylocat> Dang, Satsuki really is genre savvy
[14:12] <FoME> If Metroid taught us anything, it's that the parasitic aliens are weak to cold.
[14:12] <@Sylocat> She knew she'd have to overprepare
[14:12] <@Sylocat> WHOA
[14:13] <@Sylocat> But of course, Ragyo is even more powerful
01[14:14] <Froborr> Yes, bringing an army of mooks against the mind control parasites *does* tend to backfire.
01[14:14] <Froborr> She's not *that* genre savvy.
[14:14] <@Sylocat> Of course, Ragyo is also dumb enough to think that said army of mooks will be enough to take on the characters who have already got said mooks working for them
[14:14] <Arrlaari> The thread spools Ragyo uses here were on her desk in the scene where Rei is reporting that their clothes were being stolen
[14:14] <@Sylocat> Really? I missed that
[14:15] <Arrlaari> It was a few episodes back
[14:15] <@Sylocat> So, when is Senketsu gonna interfere?
[14:15] <@Sylocat> Okay, that's just cheating
[14:16] <FoME> Ad.
[14:16] <@Sylocat> Nui's powers have no rules
[14:16] <FoME> She's been called "Evil Pinkie" for reasons other than her color scheme.
[14:16] <@Sylocat> Of course
[14:16] <@Sylocat> She even went to the mirror pool
[14:17] <FoME> I'm back.
01[14:17] <Froborr> I am doubtful this fight scene can last another 8 episodes, so I wonder how they separate everyone.
[14:17] <@Sylocat> Ooh, Ragyo, don't say "She'll never be able to..."
01[14:18] <Froborr> Oh.
01[14:18] <Froborr> Of course.
[14:18] <@Sylocat> (what am I saying? Go ahead and say that, Ragyo, since it'll lead to your destruction)
01[14:18] <Froborr> Her one red hair is a life fiber.
01[14:18] <Froborr> She's that baby they discarded.
[14:18] <FoME> Yes, she just reached in through her own skull.
[14:18] <@Sylocat> Uh oh
[14:19] <@Sylocat> Outright mind control won't work, but pushing her buttons will
01[14:20] <Froborr> Yeah, shonen heroes are never hard to manipulate.
[14:20] <FoME> On the other hand, her theme song is playing.
[14:21] <@Sylocat> "Never given a name." Come on
[14:21] <@Sylocat> Ooh, cutting off the head works? She's a Highlander?
[14:21] <@Sylocat> Uh oh... her blood raining down, will that turn into Life Fibers?
[14:21] <FoME> And in the end, Satsuki and Ryuko have the same motivation: avenging a father.
[14:22] <@Sylocat> Oh, it's the Life Fiber itself that goes berserk now
01[14:22] <Froborr> Ah, of course.
[14:22] <@Sylocat> Or not
[14:22] <@Sylocat> Come on, Ryuko... KO Nui and cut that last thread...
[14:23] <@Sylocat> Eww
[14:23] <@Sylocat> Oh come on
01[14:24] <Froborr> Ew.
[14:24] <@Sylocat> Ryuko was supposed to interfere
[14:24] <Arrlaari> It's not hard to guess what "ew" is for.
[14:24] <@Sylocat> Is this another Evangelion reference?
[14:25] <FoME> I don't believe so.
[14:26] <@Sylocat> Well duh
[14:26] <@Sylocat> I'm surprised everyone hadn't figured that out by now
01[14:26] <Froborr> I had.
[14:26] <@Sylocat> Wait, where are the Elite Four while all this is going on? I didn't see Nui's copies take them out
[14:26] <Arrlaari> Pictured: Froborr http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20061211092134/wikiality/images/d/d2/ICalledIt.jpg
[14:26] <FoME> They were being distracted by Ragyo's secretary.
[14:26] <@Sylocat> Are they going to interfere and save them next episode (don't answer that)?

[14:27] <Arrlaari> (I tried to find an animated gif but not enough time)
01[14:27] <Froborr> lol
[14:27] <Arrlaari> Since episode 3!
[14:27] <FoME> Incidentally, one of the ways to translate "Ryuko Matoi"? Abandoned child. Remember how terrible her father was at naming things?
01[14:27] <Froborr> Okay, that's pretty funny.
01[14:28] <Froborr> Anyway, final thoughts?
[14:28] <@Sylocat> So yeah, I'm feeling desirous of seeing Ragyo get killed in many different horrible ways
[14:28] <Arrlaari> Basically I've been planning to link a Colbert "called it" image here since episode 3
[14:28] <Arrlaari> I'm quite glad I was at least able to do that while travelling
01[14:29] <Froborr> And I appreciate it!
[14:29] <Arrlaari> I haven't seen Eva, but it's my impression that Gendo was a contender for worst anime parent ever
[14:30] <Arrlaari> I'm reasonably certain that he can't compete with Ragyo, though
01[14:30] <Froborr> Yeah, Gendo was emotionally distant and neglectful.
01[14:30] <Froborr> Ragyo is sexually abusive of one child and abandoned the other.
[14:30] <Arrlaari> Well, she performed a life threatening experiment on the other and was convinced she had died
[14:31] <FoME> On a lighter note, props to Soroi for running while carrying about a dozen people at the age of sixty-something.
