What if the Daring Do books are secretly written by Ditzy Doo? Daring Doo was an athletic, coordinated, adventure-having fictional alter ego she dreamed up as a foal, and when she got older she changed the name a little to make it less recognizable, made up a pseudonym, and started writing.
At least one fanfic had it turn out that Daring Do was a real pony and was Ditzy Doo's sister.
ReplyDeleteI like this version, though. Or maybe we could combine them and say that Ditzy based the character on her actual sister. But that wouldn't have quite the dramatic point of your idea.
A couple other fanfics have it turn out that the author is actually Twilight Velvet, Twilight Sparkle's mom. Which made for an awkward moment when Rainbow Dash tried to write a shipfic.
