I've been watching a LOT of Adventure Time lately for an upcoming panel, and Merriwether Williams' hand is all over it. All I can say is that those bronies who claim she's a bad writer are objectively wrong; admittedly this proves nothing regarding whether she's a good fit for Friendship Is Magic.
Also, I've been reading Odd Girl Out. It is a painful book, not because it is bad but because it is very, very familiar. Anyway, I can definitely see the relevance to "The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well." It hasn't actually changed my opinion of that episode, but I'm starting to see why at least some of its haters feel the way they do. More on that when I finish reading, most likely.
Eh, her being a bad writer was disproven by her other episodes... particularly Wonderbolt Academy, which now means she's gone from writing the worst Rainbow Dash episode to writing the best one.
