Pony Thought of the Day: Twilight Would Be Jealous

So, I've been working heavily on the book after work and on Saturdays, because my editor is doing an amazing job and that means tons of work for me. A lot of it has involved heavy research, because my editor's reaction to basically any assertion I make is "prove it."

Why not Sundays? Because on Sundays this place is closed:

That's the main reading room of the Library of Congress, home to 32 million books and 61 million manuscripts, and one of my favorite places in the world.

And I am enough of a nerd that, every time I walk in, all I can think is "Twilight, eat your heart out."

  1. I imagine that place certainly could give the Royal Canterlot Archive a run for its bits...

  2. The Library of Congress. Yep, pretty hard to imagine a better library than that. Lucky you, living within driving distance.

Of course I personally have never done a research project where a library of that size would actually save me time over just using the internet, aside from the need for citations that would make an English teacher happy. Heck, just the "main" library on my college campus was impressive enough for me and I maybe had to set foot in there three times ever since all the books I actually needed were in one of the branch libraries. But I'm not really a writer.
