Option 1: Whenever you watch the episode, comment on this post as you watch with whatever responses you feel like posting!
Option 2: Go to http://webchat.freenode.net/. Enter a nickname, then for the Channels field enter ##rabbitcube, and finally fill in the Captcha and hit Connect! We'll be watching the episode and commenting there starting at just before 2:00 p.m. EST. After the chat, I will update this post with a log of the conversation.
(Except this week I probably won't be in the chat because of MAGFest, so if someone could keep the log and post it in the comments or e-mail it to me or something, I'd be much obliged...)
Massively, absurdly late, here's the log of me watching it by myself days later:
<Froborr> Okay.
<Froborr> So, started a chat with myself because it's been almost a week since the episode and I still haven't watched it.
<Froborr> Queueing it up now...
<Froborr> Manehattan Fashion Week?
<Froborr> Did she win Project Runway: Equestria?
<Froborr> Bridleway.
<Froborr> BRIDLEWAY
<Froborr> I'm still trying to get over Bridleway
<Froborr> That is some Detrot-calibre pun shenanigans
<Froborr> ...The Friendship Express crossing the Brooklyn Bridge?
<Froborr> That just looks... wrong.
<Froborr> LOL about musicals
<Froborr> Further confirmation that the musical numbers are no longer diegetic, and haven't been for a long time.
<Froborr> The notion of Manhattan, the City That Hates You, being the center of kindness and generosity is... weird.
<Froborr> Although it's possible that it's just me that Manhattan hates, and everyone else has had wonderful experiences visiting...
<Froborr> That must be one heck of a daisy to be worth an amethyst.
<Froborr> Huh, Rarity knows Mending.
<Froborr> The Generosity song was... decent, but not great.
<Froborr> Um... you have friends with wings and teleportation spells, Rarity.
<Froborr> You don't need a taxi.
<Froborr> And now there's 7 minutes to get Rarity her dresses.
<Froborr> ...Or... not.
<Froborr> Prim Hemline, that's pretty good.
<Froborr> Man, Prim Hemline should hang out with the Equestria Games inspector.
<Froborr> "Oh, I don't need luck, I cheat horribly."
<Froborr> Yep. Idea thief.
<Froborr> And even then the assistant does all the work.
<Froborr> Wait, is Coco Ponel actually her name? That's even better.
<Froborr> Rarity running a sweatshop is now canon.
<Froborr> "I go out of my way to get you tickets for a show, and this is how you repay me? By going to the show?"
<Froborr> The soap on a rope makes that first dress.
<Froborr> Reprise or new song?
<Froborr> Rarity sing sad song. =(
<Froborr> ...How did she already arrange it if she thought they went home?
<Froborr> And then the abused assistant reveals the truth.
<Froborr> I'm going to have FUN writing on this one, it's an even better anti-capitalist episode than SSCS6K.
<Froborr> Ah, and then the assistant gets to make the costumes.
<Froborr> Another double lesson as well, I'm liking those.
<Froborr> Okay, what is up with that rainbow sheen thing?
<Froborr> That was odd.
<Froborr> Pretty good episode overall. About damn time, too.
I shall indeed keep the log.
ReplyDeleteOkay, here's the transcript. I got off to a slightly late start, and, well, it got a bit incoherent in spots, but anyway...
ReplyDeleteSorry, dude. If I had known it was gonna be just you, I would have stopped by. But I caught the episode at 10:30, so...
DeleteI should have invited my dad (Mere_Oblivion) again too.
DeleteSheesh, looking at that transcript, it's embarrassing. I felt so awkward trying to make it interesting on my own, I just mumbled a lot of boring reaction shots. Yikes.
Sorry I wasn't around for the chat; I have a terrible habit of forgetting what day it is, and didn't realize it was a Saturday until a few minutes ago.
