Pony Thought of the Day: Rarity is Farsighted
Rarity wears glasses when working on dress designs in "Sweet and Elite." I think she might be farsighted. Alternatively, she could be nearsighted and refuse to wear them for fashion reasons, but be forced to in order to see her designs. I prefer to think she's farsighted, though, given that her glasses are actually pretty cool and quite flashy, so probably not something she's embarrassed over.

Or, wearing glasses helps her concentrate. Or they could ave magnifying lenses instead of corrective lenses. Or Rarity is a robot.

Clearly being a secret robot is genetic, and Rarity's had several extra years to hone the act.
DeleteThat said, I like your farsighted idea, though there are degrees. My guess is they're equivalent to reading glasses--she could get by without them briefly in a pinch but doing so for anything that'll take longer than a minute or two would be tiring, stressful and probably slow her down anyways. (I wouldn't know though, I have awesome eyes as long as you don't need me to tell judge whether something's closer to red or green).
